Solar Blankets

ABGAL’s Solar Pool Blankets and Storage Reel Systems are ideal for maintaining heated pools or attracting free heat from the sun. Solar Blankets are made from a film containing thousands of tiny bubbles, which work together to collect and retain heat in your pool. An ABGAL Solar Pool Blanket floats on top of the water and allows the solar energy to pass through, then traps and retains the heat in your pool.

ABGAL have three styles to choose from; all have been Smart Watermark Approved.

Measuring your Pool

The blankets are supplied as a rectangular sheet and therefore need to cover the entire pool including steps. Measure the longest length and the widest width of pool (see diagrams below) to ensure you get the correct blanket for your pool at the waterline.

Commercial Pool Blankets

Reduce your pool running costs with a commercial grade pool blanket. The blanket reduces water and heat evaporation, running costs of pool environment air conditioning, and keeps the humidity to a minimum.

ABGAL blankets for commercial pools are normally supplied with reinforced edging for strength and durability. They come with a special flotation leading edge and haul cord therefore covering the pool is a hassle free operation. The blankets are supplied in modular sections up to 6 metres (20') wide hence easier to handle and storage can be on a commercial grade reel. Protective over-covers can be included as a separate piece or attached to the end of the blanket so it automatically protects when rolled onto the storage reel. There are two types available, the Oasis Solar Blanket and the HeatShield™ Thermal Pool Blanket.

Oasis Solar

The Oasis Solar commercial blanket is made from UV stabilised polyethylene film. It is lightweight, flexible and easy to store. Reinforced edges give the blanket strength for commercial applications and form a weighted edge to stabilise in windy conditions. These are ideal for pool environments where the blanket sections are quite large or the pool storage reels are manually operated by one person.

Heatshield™ Thermal Pool Blanket

The Heatshield™ Thermal Pool Blanket is recognised as the most effective type of cover for pool insulation. As well as significantly reducing your heat, chemical, cleaning and water costs, it is the most durable and the longest lasting blanket available.

Consisting of a 3mm thick, double reinforced, multi-layered construction, the water proof closed-cell polyethylene foam gives the blanket its superior thermal resistance qualities. The impermeable black base layer gives the blanket its chemical resistance.
